As sad and devastating as this situation is, it’s showing the true merit that social media has. The story would have blown up on the news regardless, but there are so many people who found out about it quicker and who can follow any vital updates via the Twitter account (that we definitely wouldn’t be following 24/7 on the news). Does this mean that she will be found? I don’t want to answer that because we usually know. But there’s always a small glimmer of hope and if we do nothing we receive even less. So, to my many friends who still say Twitter is a joke (get over yourselves, it’s 2011), let’s stop all this whining and start doing some good.
